The Central Victoria Solar City project is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, the Central Victoria Solar City Consortium and other supporting organisations.
The Central Victoria Solar City project is part of the Australian Government’s Solar Cities program that offers incentives to local residents and businesses to participate in a trial range of energy efficiency, local energy generation and demand management products and services. The project aims to discover innovative local energy solutions for you, your community and the planet.
Open to 2,500 households and businesses in the Central Victoria Solar City area, this initiative is helping change the way we think about, and use, energy.
Householders and businesses can choose from
a menu of energy efficiency services, and local generation and demand management products.

Package ChangesCentral Victoria Solar City is currently revising some of its Packages to make them even more relevant to householders wishing to reduce their energy use and create renewable energy locally. New Package details will be revealed soon. In the meantime, keep an eye out for highlighted interim changes on this website and call the office on 03) 5479 1900 if you have any questions.
Energy Audits on hold in the short termCentral Victoria Solar City is currently revising this Package. As such we have put delivery of these audits on hold in the short term. We look forward to having this valuable service available again to Central Victorians very soon. Watch this space..... Household Solar Electric - a 1.5kW system at a great price!The Household Solar Electric Package is now even more affordable with the introduction of a 1.5kW system to replace the 2kW system. Anyone who currently has an Engagement Contract for the 2kW system must have their Contract back to the Central Victoria Solar City office by 14 July. Package details have changed, so call the project office in the interim to discover the benefits of this latest offer.
